As a real estate professional, you may have created a website for your business. This is a good first step on the path to more clients, but what you need now is a strong marketing strategy.

While having an effective, attractive and functional website is a big plus, you won't realize its full benefits unless you promote that site and ensure that users are stopping by for extended periods of time. Thankfully, there are many ways that you can increase traffic without breaking the bank.

To get started, here are a few ways that you can get your website noticed:

Focus on online marketing
Your online presence can be a major component of a quality marketing strategy. In an article for Forbes, contributor Ilya Pozin outlined several methods that might work for your real estate website.

For starters, Pozin recommended upgrading your blogging game. As a real estate professional, you have a fair bit of knowledge on the industry. Use that to your advantage. Write blogs for your own site or other sites, including social networks, to come across as an expert. Try to include a link back to your site whenever possible. The more your writing is out there, the more recognizable your name will be.

In addition, Pozin suggested some simple advertising. Many social media sites allow companies to buy space on the page. For example, Facebook ads allow you to target specific demographics and connect with a massive collection of users. While this does cost a small amount of money, the sheer amount of time people spend on Facebook can lead to a significant return on investment.

Market your website offline
Promoting your real estate website online isn't your only course of action. In fact, creating a comprehensive strategy that factors in offline methods will help increase the number of people who check out your page.

According to Entrepreneur magazine, the first place you should start is by adding your URL to all types of materials. For example, get it on your letterhead, your business cards and in other documents you share with clients and potential clients. If you've taken the time to create promotional materials for your real estate company - like a mug, t-shirt or hat - then get your URL on these items as well.

You might also have advertisements in places offline, Entrepreneur explained. You could have taken out a Yellow Pages ad, a segment of the local paper or even a billboard. If so, then make sure your URL finds its way into these places too. That way, people who see your name attached to real estate services will also have the website right there to check out.

Overall, your website can be an integral part of your client services. Make sure enough people are visiting to keep your business booming.
